All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Inner gilt dentelles. Pages evenly and only slightly toned. Occasional mark. Text block very slightly uneven. Inner hinges with historical repair with cloth tape. 19.5 x 25.5 cm. Contemporary full crimson morocco (beautifully patinated). Spine in 6 compartments with gilt pointille raised bands, featuring hand tooled gilt Prince of Wales feathers within gilt tulip, stamen and leaf corner-pieces, & floral head and tail scrolled tooling(slightly rubbed). Boards with gilt scrolling foliate borders within double gilt fillets (vertical incisions where historical strengthening repairs occurred). Upper board with central Prince of Wales feathers motif in gilt, above gilt block capital titling on three lines (corners slightly bumped and worn). Sumptuously and uniquely bound copy of one of the best illustrated cavalry histories of the period; Norie's plates are very fine.
