63 pages, + one page of publisher's advert at the back for the Library of Youth of which this was volume four. Copper-engraved frontispiece, captioned "Mythology," depicting Jupiter and several other Roman gods enthroned on a cloud. New rear pastedown endpapers. 60 x 92 mm. Original blue paper covered boards with original cream printed label. Spine and lower cover recovered. One of the ten books that was sold in a box as the 'Bookcase of Knowledge' or the 'Library of Youth' from 1800. The contents are aimed at the older child and are mostly quite sophisticated. Reprinting of Wallis's 1800 ed. (printed by Cundee) in a new setting of type; "London" in black letter on t.p. (cf. 1800 ed., which uses italic caps.) Very scarce in commerce.
