28 printed pages. Printed and published by J.Wrightin provincial Bristol. Contemporary ink inscription on verso of front free endpaper, undated. 25 x 30 mm. Original publisher's green patterned card. Slight rubbing to edges and to hinges. Not in Bondy, nor Spielmann nor Welsh. WorldCat locates no copies worldwide. Wright is recorded to have published about 60 chapbooks in 1840, but they were all 10 cm. in height. This smaller publication is very uncommon. The selection of the 40th chapter of Isaiah is significant, as it begins with "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people", a foundational message of the Protestant faith often printed in miniature for comfort and daily meditation. It is often referred to as the Bible in miniature. Wright's edition was essentially a demonstration piece to show that such a micro-miniature sized book was still readable.
