One plate depicting 2 decorators "Stripping off Poisonous Wall Papers" is reminiscent of the 1st chapter of "The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist" where "The air was full of the sounds of the scraping of the stripping knives used by those who were removing the old wallpaper."
