FIRST EDITION SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 146 printed pages. Signed in black pen by the author ("Best wishes, Billy Tait.") on the front free endpaper. Small amount of sticky tape residue on free endpapers.  15 x 22.5 cm. Original grey cloth, spine with bright gilt lettering. Upper corners slightly bumped. Complete with original buff dust jacket with red and blue lettering designed by Andrew Chisholm. Spine panel very slightly faded. Billy Tait (1918 - 1992) was born on the Shetland island of Yell. He studied at Edinburgh University and taught English in Shetland, England and Dundee. His collected poems, A Day Between Weathers, was published in 1980 and was the culmination of 40 years’ writing. Billy was a well-known and much loved feature of the Edinburgh public-house circuit. Signed copies are not commonly found to be available.
