Eduard Thöny (1866-1950), Austrian caricaturist and painter, worked from 1896 to 1944 for the journal Simplicissimus - The large-format lithos are fabulous, very decorative images in typical Art Nouveau graphic style with flat colour tones and dry, caustic text that mocks the arrogance and ignorance of the officers of the Wilhelmine Army. This Album of the well-known cartoonist is rather uncommon. WorldCat locates no copies in the UK, one in France and Sweden and 3 copies in German universtiy libraries. Bookseller Inventory # 4271
