No date, but circa 1845. 274 printed pages (in gatherings of 8). Tipped in title page in orange paper (some offsetting). All edges gilt. Original yellow endpapers (lacks front free endpaper). Contemporary owner's inscription on front paste-down endpaper. 34 x 40 mm. Original burgundy morocco (slightly rubbed, with marking on lower board). Spine lettered "Bible" in gilt with blind-stamped scrolling floral decoration; boards with similar decoration with twin fillet borders in blind (edges and hinged slightly rubbed). Only edition with this imprint. The Rock Brothers are beter known for publishing their Bijou Almanack series from 1850-5. This very abridged version of the entire bible was one of a number of quite popular editions in England - very much more popular in America, by comparison. Adomeit, B71, two copies: collections of Adomeit and of Julian I. Edison. Not in Bondy and not in Spielmann and not in Welsh. WorldCat only locates the Adomeit copy, now in Indiana University Library. Very scarce. Seller Inventory # 5252
