384 printed pages. India paper. Portrait frontispiece of Dr. Samuel Johnson. One of the Mite Series. All edges yellow. Some leaves slightly bowed at corners. 20 x 27 mm. Original red roan leather (very slightly rubbed and marked with minor bowing towards the corners). Gilt title on front. "Pears" in gilt on back, advertising well-known carbolic soap tradename. This is one of a number of minuscule books published by Bryce by the process of photographic reduction. They are all legible with a magnifying glass and the equivalent of 1 1/2-point. This is number 18 in Ruth Adomeit's List of 32 Basic Books for the Serious Collector.
