New matching green morocco spine with gilt lettering and single fillets. Boards with period black morocco corner repairs with broad gilt fillets (very slightly worn). Original gilt lettering and central panel gilt vignette of swan and two cygnets, a phoenix rising at top, and dragons below including title sashes surrounding and borders filled with flowers, butterflies, and stars. Back cover with central porprietory publisher's cypher in blind within blind borders. The plates, after original drawings by E. V. B. (Eleanor Vere Boyle) clearly illustrate the influence of the Pre-Raphaelite movement on her artwork. One of Boyle's finest creations that is always scarce in any condition.
