New Tarot Deck. Second edition 1975. By William J. Hurley, Rae Hurley and John A. Horler, The New Tarot deck contains bold designs in black-and-white line drawings with 3 ground-reversal effect.
The imagery was drawn by Horler, with
modern, traditional, Egyptian, Tahitian, religious and mythological influences. The
pictures reflect the
archetypes of ancient myths popularized by Joseph Campbell, & Robert Graves. Gestalt
configurations are illustrated throughout the cards. The Major Arcana card are numbered
without titles. The Minor Arcana cards are illustrated and numbered. The deck is standard poker size instead
of the larger size common to many tarot Cards. Complete deck of 78 cards, including an extra blank card and a title card (for a total of 80 cards). Includes an 8.5" x 14" double-sided folded instruction sheet with map images and interpretations, and sample spread.
The deck and fold-out card are in English. The instruction leaflet states: “The cards show archetypal images, fundamental to Western thinking and behaviour". Very good condition despite extremely mild, uniform age-toning. Printed in the U.S. by Taroco.
